So, I'm Thinking Fat Shaming Week Was Pretty Stupid

So, during Fat Shaming Week I actually had no idea it was a thing. Someone had told me about it and I just kinda looked at them like........
Dude that's a great joke right?

I thought it was just some idiotic joke because a week to make fun at fat people? Since when is there a week for that it happens everyday. Anyways later I found out this was an actual thing that exploded over twitter started by Return of Kings, a website for masculine men. Just the whole idea of the ROK website wanted me to hit my head through a desk but then it just got better. The #fatshamingweek was suppose to 'inspire' overweight to become thin by degrading them and treating them as if they're something less than human. A.K.A if you bully them and treat them like shit enough they'll inspire to change themselves.

If that sort of logic actually worked then after years of people treating me like shit for being Atheist I'd turn relgious. Being bullied over a part of you doesn't inspire them to change it, it inspires them to hate themselves more or the person bullying them. Hate equals more hate. It's also idiotic for someone to think they're making the world better by degrading overweight people for not having a model-esque figure.

It also seems to be that they think the only reason why fat people are overweight is because they're coach potatoes who just gobble up all the junk food in sight and that if they walk a few minutes each day and eat less they'll loss all that weight.

I hate to say that's not the truth. I myself am overweight and don't try to think otherwise but, each day I walk about an hour or more while also swimming for a half an hour to an hour about every other day or so along with my team sports elective class. On the other hand one of my friends does nothing but eat any food he sees and dick around on Call of Duty all day but weighs around the 115 lbs area. Not everyone is the same in that regard. Someone can be really lazy but thin and overweight people could be hardworking you shouldn't just go along with the stereotypes.

When I sit back and think about all this fat shaming business it just makes my head hurt. I can't wrap my head around how someone thinks the best way to fixing a problem is by degrading someone else but, I suppose that's just some of the logic these ROK guys, and the people involved in #fatshamingweek, seem to have. Do we really all have to weigh 140 pounds and below to be considered beautiful and normal? Are Overweight people really just lazy people who need to get off their asses because they're ruining America? Of course I think no to both those answers and that this whole thing just demonstrated the things I hate most about humanity.
